With all the uncertainty in the world today, it’s nice to have something to look forward to. The industry’s most popular, most attended, most talked about trade show is happening next January. The 2021 SHOT Show® is full steam ahead, and where there’s SHOT Show, there’s Industry Day at the Range.
Now in its 16th year, Industry Day at the Range is a highly influential one-day trade event for the hunting and shooting sports industry. It’s also the only range event officially associated with SHOT Show. NSSF®, the firearm industry trade association and owner and operator of the annual SHOT Show, is the title sponsor of Industry Day at the Range.
Held annually the day before the opening of SHOT Show, Industry Day at the Range brings together invited media members, buyers and manufacturers to preview and test the latest products—some of which have never before seen the light of day.
For those who have never attended, you may be wondering, “How is it different from SHOT Show?” We’re glad you asked. Here are the top three reasons you and your brand should consider exhibiting at the 2021 Industry Day at the Range:
1. The Numbers Don’t Lie
Last year’s Industry Day at the Range broke records with more than 2,000 media members and buyers attending. These important guests were able to test the hottest new products from more than 200 exhibiting manufacturers before anyone else in the industry. The 2020 event garnered over 100 million digital impressions for sponsors and exhibitors for a 30-day period. Based on these numbers, our expectations for 2021 are extremely high.

2. The Early Bird Gets the Worm
Sponsors and exhibitors begin to receive media coverage the moment Industry Day at the Range begins, and it continues for the duration of SHOT Show and throughout the year. That means your brand and new products generate buzz before the competition—and a full day before the full influx of media coverage from SHOT Show begins. Exhibiting manufacturers get a jump on their competition with early exposure to their most important buyers and the ability to receive exclusive coverage from print, digital, broadcast and social-media outlets.
3. Testing, Testing, 1, 2, 3
At SHOT Show, guests can look to their heart’s content, but being able to handle products, use them and put them through their paces makes all the difference. The one-day Industry Day at the Range event gives everyone in attendance a chance to handle, shoot and work with some of the most anticipated guns, gear and gadgets our industry will offer in 2021. It’s invaluable exposure, as press members and buyers come away from Industry Day at the Range being able to “sell” your products through firsthand experience.
What to Expect in 2021
The 2021 Industry Day at the Range event, an invitation-only event for buyers and press members, takes place Jan.18, one day prior to the 2021 SHOT Show. There are shooting lanes for all firearm types, tents for non-shooting companies and ample space for on- and off-road vehicles and other product demonstrations. Exhibitor spaces are filling up fast, but the good news is that right now exhibiting opportunities for manufacturers (including pistol, rifle, shotgun, archery, less than lethal, demo-track and non-shooting brands) are still available. See registration details here.
Note: Because 2020 has so far been a truly unique year due to the global pandemic, we want to reassure our invited guests, sponsors and exhibitors that Industry Day at the Range is working closely with NSSF and SHOT Show staff to monitor the ever-evolving COVID-19 guidelines. As the date draws closer, we’ll continue to implement additional health measures to make sure everyone attending is as safe as possible. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone there!
